Steve helped to establish PBSA as an institutional grade asset class having led the establishment of the Unite UK Student Accommodation Fund and managing over £4 billion of capital invested into PBSA globally. An experienced corporate financier, Steve has an extensive track record in raising and managing PBSA debt facilities globally.
Nicholas Porter
Chairman
Nicholas has been the global pioneer in PBSA for almost 30 years. He founded Unite Group plc in 1991 and grew the business to become a FTSE-250 listed company and largest owner of PBSA in the UK. In 2007, Nicholas founded GSA - the international market leader in the provision of student accommodation, providing an unrivalled student experience in 8 countries across 3 continents.
Rick Pudner
Chair of Credit Committee
An internationally renowned banker with over 33 years banking experience. Rick spent 25 years in various senior management roles with HSBC across Europe and Asia before joining Emirates Bank International in 2006 as Group CEO, leading the merger with National Bank of Dubai to create a regional banking champion. Rick has also held numerous other senior board roles across a range of financial services and fintech businesses.
Jim Brook
Head of Portfolio Management
Jim has over 25 years of experience lending to the commercial real estate sector, the majority of which was with NatWest and RBS. He has experience across a variety of disciplines including loan origination, underwriting and portfolio management. Jim will be leading due diligence, deal execution and portfolio management.
Nick Cussen

Nick has held various roles in lending, credit and leadership at Nat West over 14 years. A director in the Real Estate Finance business, Nick was primarily responsible for PBSA clients; from major corporates to developers, operators, investors and private family offices, transacting over £1.5 billion of debt. Jana Flanagan
Head of Investor Relations
Jana is a finance professional specialising in investor relations and corporate communications. Jana spent the last ten years of her career in an ASX listed company leading an investor relations strategy focusing on institutional equity and debt markets. Jana trained as a chartered accountant in financial services with KPMG followed by roles in ABN AMRO and Macquarie Group.
